Scotty torches Nick in the Old Man Bowl, with Hurts, Henry, and the Chargers D leading the way. Nick got 35 points out of his TE and Defense, but defied fantasy football science and still somehow only scored 78 points. I guess getting six total points from Bijan, Cooks, and Akers gets it done. I know you guys were wondering, so I will inform you all, AO traded away the #16 running back in our league and 42F for the #15 running back. If you were also wondering who now has four running backs inside the top 14, that would be me. Scotty’s riding a four game streak, and not shockingly, his points against number has returned to the mean of the group. Nick officially punted on 2023, and got handsomely rich in the meantime. It’s pretty incredible a team that went 2-7 can have players on it that are so highly coveted, and then there’s Bradley’s 1-8 team that he couldn’t hope to make a dollar on. Fantasy is a weird sport! Nick’s team isn’t a free bye week yet, he moves on to test the new look against the horseshoe ass man himself, Mason, and Scott squares off against the now 10th place Cocaine Bear squad. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the fact that Scotty owns the #1, and #2 WRs in fantasy football, Tyreak and AJ Brown. He also owns the #3 RB in fantasy, Etienne Jr, so yeah, there’s a couple reasons his team is good.
Ragen picks up his 2nd win in a row against Jake, and it was monstrous. The big difference in this matchup was the 23 points the Browns put up, and Ekeler getting the job done on Monday Night. Jake sells Kamara for what has to be one of the higher totals we’ve seen, especially for a player who’s only broken double digits three times on the year. For all those with jobs and wondering, the Kamara sale has to be the best example of why it can be important to strike while the iron is hot and the boys are riled up and ready to spend money. All you need is a couple determined psychopaths who are hungry and you can sell a good player for who knows how fucking much! Jake is now in interesting middle land, sold Kamara, but still looking to buy possibly, but it probably depends on how his matchup goes against arguably the strongest team in the league. Good chance Mark Andrews is up for grabs next week. Ragen moves along to everyone’s favorite week of 2023 (Except Tank), playing Bradley’s team. After the two big wins, with a third looming, Ragen is squarely in the playoff conversation one week ahead of the trade deadline!
Eric strikes again. And again, his QB position doesn’t do shit. It’s a goddamn thing of beauty. (Cue TV gameshow music and incredible gameshow voice) “Next week on Who the Fuck Is Eric Going to Start at QB, we get a chance to meet Baker Mayfield! Will he score less than 10 points? You bet! Will Eric still win? Probably!” Josh Jacobs leads the way for the Rim Riders, no McCaffery (#1 RB in fantasy), no problem baby. Dally didn’t get anything out of the Mahomes/Kelce stack…again, and Chase and Kupp were big letdowns. Dallas has to lick the wounds and focus his attention on the struggling Urge to Purge squad, while the Rim Riders head to the even more struggling but newly fitted OTT IS HIM team.
Mason squeaks out a close one against Tank, behind a 30 spot from Dak. Pickens, Thielen, and Henderson combine for a whopping 4 points, but Taysom Hill came to the rescue. On Monday Night, Mason got what he needed with a six point lead and six points from Wilson. Greg the leg couldn’t get it done for Tank, and The Urge to Purge is now staring down the barrel of a 3 game losing streak and a possible 8th/9th place in the standings after this week if he can’t right the ship. The Unloved Puppies get a favorable matchup against the defending champion turned toilet team, and the season of incredible luck continues for Mase. Will he ever regress to the mean? Will he purchase someone better than a backup RB? Only time will tell!
AO pulled off the rarely before seen QB-Scores-44-But-The-Rest-Of-His-Team-Scored-18-So-He-Lost move. Classic. Bradley pulled off something similar earlier this year in Week 2 where we saw Daniel Jones drop 32 and Bradley finished with 53. AO’s was even crazier, and had to hurt worse. It was a big bye week for AO, and now his team is certainly improved. Spencer gets enough from his squad to score 74 and secure a very important win to get back into the playoff conversation. Josh Allen and Matt Gay lead the way, with Smith and Barkley sprinkling in a little something. After a hot 4-1 start, OTT IS HIM is now in 8th place after a heartbreaking four game slide. Ouch. Now he faces an 8-1 luck juggernaut that isn’t taking no for an answer. I don’t know what the record is for a losing streak for a competitive team but AO has to be worried he’s entering that territory. I’m excited to see how Week 10 goes for him.
It was a massive week for the Stunning & Brave squad. Scored the 3rd least amount of points, but jumped three spots in the standings to grab sixth place after my 71-48 victory during my bye week. Lead by CeeDee Lamb and the Saints defense, my team didn’t do a lot, but it did plenty enough. Once again, Bradley’s leading scorer (by a huge margin) was his kicker, Koo, with 19 points. As you all know, on one of the hottest days in our groupchat’s history, I also acquired the Sun God and the #2 RB in fantasy. The craziest thing about that day had to be that some of you watch ungodly amounts of football and didn’t know who the Sun God was! Man, what could have been, if Bradley had any money this year at the draft or if he drafted anywhere as good as Mason, he’d most likely be in the top six. The bastard has 696 points scored against him, lower than Eric, and lower than Mason, for a league leading average opponent score of 77.33. Makes sense though, who’s gonna show up for their bye week and take the game seriously?!
Some big matchups this week, but Tank and Dallas’ feels important. Both teams struggling a bit, and the team that loses could find themselves getting a little nervous heading into trade deadline week!
Happy Week 10, start stretching your stomachs now, Thanksgiving will be here before you know it!
Commish Out.
